01BUILT FOR REAL BOATING
Unlike many countries, New Zealand does not require recreational vessels to meet a construction standard or carry the builder's name and capacity limits.
Without a credible record of who built it and which standards were applied, insurance can be harder or more expensive to get.
Through the NZBP scheme, builders, importers and owners can have their vessel assessed against globally recognised safety standards. Seamlessly working with the New Zealand Vessel Register (opens in a new tab), the plate provides a digital record, where the vessel's condition can be tracked throughout its life.
